How does catering work?

We handle booking outside caterers for our couples (Caterer and Menu of their choice), and try to keep it in your budget.

How do decorations work?

We like to say, "Show us your Pinterest", and we go from there! We include all decor (for reception and ceremony), which includes the real centerpieces, aisle, and altar floral arrangements.

What is the rain plan?

We have a covered Chapel, that is only steps from the reception area. (Holds up tp 200 guest)

A Note from the Owners

Pam & Bre Reeder are the mother/daughter duo behind the scenes of Southern Oaks. Together they have planned and decorated each wedding since the very beginning in 2015. They could not have done it without their very talented (and handy) husband/father, Brett Reeder. The venue has come a long way since it was first bought. Together (also with the help of their son, Tug), the venue was completely gutted and redone. Brett built/designed all of the buildings located on the property. Starting out as a "college fund", Southern Oaks has become a family affair. With Pam's diligence and Bre's creativity, they strive to make each and every wedding unique, and as perfect as possible. Together, they have done over hundreds of weddings and hope that they will be apart-of your day as well. After all the planning and meeting, our couples are more than just "clients", they become friends. The Lace House at Arsenal Hill FAQ

What prices do packages start at?

Our rental rates vary depending on the day of the week, as well as time of year. Full day wedding rentals begin at $1,500.

How does catering work?

We have an Approved Catering & Bartending List that all clients are required to utilize. Our list consists of 18 catering companies and 5 bartending companies, so couples have a wide variety of food options and price points to select.

How do decorations work?

We have few restrictions on decorations. We try our best to accommodate the requests of our couples, since weddings and special events are such personal occasions. We do not include any décor items with the venue rental, but clients, planners and vendors may bring in any décor items.

What is the rain plan?

Tents are always a great back up plan in the event of inclement weather. Tents are not included with Lace House rentals, but we are happy to work with our clients to help them find a rental company that fits their needs. All of our outdoor spaces can be tented. Our venue can accommodate up to 60 guests for an indoor ceremony and 80 guests for an indoor, seated reception.

How do decorations work?

Because South Wind Ranch was built Country Chic, there’s a natural elegance that does not require much in decorations. Simple elegance. We also have several draperies, specialty lighting, etc., in place for a Bride to use. We also offer a Floral Design team to tailor-make whatever you can imagine.

What is the rain plan?

Rain is very manageable as our chapel is next to our barn. We can set up a ceremony site inside in about 10 minutes, so we always have the option of going inside under cover.

How does catering work?

You can hire a caterer of your own choosing, from drop off to full service. Our full commercial kitchen is available to all caterers and stocked with two ovens, two coolers, warmer, ice machine, dishwasher, freezer, coffee pots, drink dispensers, and much more. We can also provide a list of suggested caterers based on your menu and service preferences.

How do decorations work?

Use our decorations and/or bring in your own! You and your planner are responsible for decorating. A sampling of our décor includes a trellis, two crosses, a double triangle backdrop, a white drapery backdrop, 100+ garlands of fake greenery, 30+ white lanterns with candles, 30+ wood slices, countless wedding and customizable signs, a bar, a sound system (accessible via Bluetooth), various cake stands, string lighting, and much more.

What is the rain plan?

Our venue has two sides separated by huge barn doors, the main/larger side and the more cozy fireplace side. For inside ceremonies, couples typically get married on the main/larger side with tables preset behind the closed barn doors. After the ceremony, the officiant or DJ directs everyone to the patio for cocktail hour while our team pulls in the preset tables to the main side. Generally, this takes between 15-20 minutes, up to 30 minutes for our largest crowds. If it’s raining, you have three options:

  1. Wedding on main side with cocktail hour on the fireplace side, spilling onto the patio (under patio umbrellas) and the large covered front porch, while we pull in and decorate tables from scratch.

  2. Wedding on main side with cocktail hour on the patio with a large covered tent (rented through an outside rental company).

  3. Wedding on the fireplace side (for ceremonies of 120 seated guests or less), where couples can have their ceremony in front of the fireplace with the reception already set up on the main side (no flipping required).
