We are excited to partner with Ko Bakery for this post!
Introducing a Wedding Cake Expert in Lihue, Hawaii
Getting Married in Hawaii?
The Cake is a Kind of a BIG Deal!
Luckily, we found a bakery in Lihue, Hawaii, and they are also kind of a big deal!
Ko Bakery is a local bakery specializing in cakes and other baked goods. In fact, they have
...the flavors of paradise™
That isn't just a slogan or marketing line... it is the driving force and central mission of Ko Bakery! Traditional, innovated and exceptional, their hand-crafted products are infused with the bounty and aloha of Kauai.
Not to mention, their online reviews are glowing! We are so excited to feature Ko Bakery in this post and recommend them to brides looking to have a beautiful (and absolutely delicious) wedding cake made for their Hawaii wedding.
With all of that being said, we had the pleasure of interviewing S. Morris Wise & Chris Spinosa, co-owners of Ko Bakery so we could get more details about their business for our Hawaii brides asking themselves, "who is going to do the cake?!"
Let the Interview Begin!
What are your favorite cake and icing flavors? Is there a favorite among clients?
The most popular cake we make is our Carrot Ginger cake with whipped cream cheese frosting. For weddings tropical flavors such as Lilikoi Dream and Hawaiian Strawberry Fields have become the top choices. At the bakery, our traditional Chocolate and Yellow Butter cakes are local favorites. One of the things we are most proud of is our Italian meringue buttercream, which is light with just the right sweetness, and it holds up perfectly for an outdoor event in the tropics.
How big (or small) of cakes can you create?
We can do up to a 90 serving tiered cake (12-10-8-6 inch). If the wedding is larger, we supplement that with a la carte 12-inch three-layer cakes that cut and look like the wedding cake. These serve 36-40 persons.
Do you deliver? If yes, what are your service areas?
Yes, we can deliver to any destination on Kauai. Delivery fees are location based.
Do you offer anything besides wedding cakes?
Aside from cakes, we also offer a variety of baked goods such as cookies, scones, individual size quiche, Savory Ham & Cheese Rolls, and our incredible Crisp cookies and Hula Baby Biscotti. In addition, we have a full-service coffee bar featuring coffee grown and roasted on Kauai specifically for Ko Bakery. We offer both hot and cold creations made with house made sauces and syrups.
Can you show us some photos of past cakes?
What can you tell us about getting started?
If you would like information about our services, the best way to reach us for inquiries is to use the form on the Wedding Cakes tab of our website kobakery.com. And, we are always happy to take phone calls directly at 808-212-9437.
We are just blown away by these cakes! Not only are they beautiful, we can't imagine how delicious they taste! Morris & Chris for being part of the Blissful Blue Jays blog! -Stephanie, Blissful Blue Jays
